Christopher
His voice is hypnotic. One listen and you immediately become hooked to his
boyish sound and innocent looks. Recording artiste Christopher, is definitely
one to keep an eye on. After charting an impressive course in the New York
Tri State areas of the United States, this talented brother is on the brink of
stardom with some new releases and a solid management team in place.
Born Mark Williams, he migrated from Jamaica to the United States in the late
1980's. After graduating from Evander High, he studied mechanics. Afterwards,
he got a job as a courier with Federal Express. The sacrifice he made to give up
his regular daytime job to concentrate on his singing career may just be what
the doctor ordered.
He teamed with producer Louis 'Flabba' Malcolm (who now manages his career)
and found the right prescription on the "headache" rhythm. The result, "Bun Him
Back" which became an underground hit in the nightclubs and at reggae radio
stations. A remake of the Backstreet Boys hit "I Want it That Way" followed,
but it is the current scorcher, "All I Have to Give", another Backstreet Boys original, which has been blowing away listeners. The song, which is on the hurricane rhythm, showcases the singer's fine tuned pipes and vocal charisma. "I Can't Live Without
Your Love" for Richie D's 2-Bad Label, is among his latest efforts. He has also
recorded songs for Jeremy Harding, who is best known for his success with
Beenie Man's "Zim Zimmer (Who Am I)".
Christopher has come a long way since his working with producer Lenky's Shy
Shy label in the early 1990's. His very first recording was a cover of Monica's
"Before You Walk Out of My Life". He then moved on to the famed Don One
studios in New York, where he recorded "Bashment Girl", on the studio's version
of the "joyride" rhythm. "Bashie Bashie" for Malcom's "James Bond" rhythm in 1997,
was what got the ball rolling for him.
Christopher has performed at a number of events in and around the New York
area. Among them are Club Amazuru, the Q Club, as well as at venues in areas
such as Miami, For Lauderdale, Boston and Washington. Reggae Culturama and Westchester Festival, are among the high profile events he has appeared on.
Reggae singers Wayne Wonder and Sanchez are among his musical influences. |
