While driving down the streets In Jamaica's capital city, Kingston, drivers are bombarded with a number of posters, signs and billboards advertising various entertainment events. Increasingly, those signs bear the Coppershot logo, a testament to their growing popularity.

Coppershot is a young sound system, vying for their place in the crowded sound system arena. The sound has a strong following in both the Kingston 6 and Kingston 8 communities but appeal to a wider market in Kingston and across the island. The tastes of dancehall fans have broadened over the past few years. Patrons at a session can be seen dancing to roots reggae, pop, dancehall, hip hop, and R&B, just to name a few. Coppershot possess the versatility to entertain any kind of crowd. With their hard-core juggling, distinctive remixes and even original jams, Coppershot offers a diverse and entertaining musical appeal.

With a name like Coppershot, the sound was bound to attract the attention of famed deejay, Bounty Killa. The Killa was impressed with the talents possessed by the sound and has become one of their most ardent fans. Understandably, the Coppershot record box has several dubs from the leading deejay. The record box also contains dubs from most of the top artistes in the business, including Spragga Benz , Frisco Kid, Scare Dem Crew, Baby Cham, Capleton, Sizzla, Sean Paul, and the Dutty Cup Crew to name a few.

The sound got off the ground just six years ago, due a merger between Sage and Coppershot. Its talented crew includes; selectors Jay Z, Mr. Shaun, Remington Steel, DJ Donny, and their administrative/managing crew includes Banky Slawta, Sharky, Neropelpa, Jerry, & Jamo'D. The Crew has been working consistently since the start and has played all over the island with the likes of leading sound systems such as Stone Love, Travellers and Renaissance. The sound has also journeyed abroad to perform with the leading sound systems in the industry and presently look forward to more opportunities like these.

Coppershot looks to a bright future and is determined to adopt a philosophy of progressiveness. They expect to increase their fan base by maintaining their high level of musical versatility and introducing their own Coppershot productions.
