Creative dynamic and exciting best describes The Potential Crew,
Three dynamic youngsters who have pooled their creativity in an exciting fashion. Blessed with two deejays "Western Ranks" and "Lieutenant Brooksie" along with a talented singer, "Singing Crystal".
The group from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica has already made their mark
on the music scene.
The Potential Crew has three singles "Potential Inna Di Place" produced by Jack
Scorpio, "Draw Wi Out" by Stephen Ventura and Gigi-Gigi produced by "Thug Chemist". The group tamed up with Determine in his controversial song "Why" which is soon
to be released and "Don't Stop Di Music" which is a tribute to radio disc jockeys.
Lt. Brooksie did "Thank Jah Jah" and "Hottie-Hottie Gal". Western Ranks released
"See through You" and "Mr. Witter". While Singing Crystal released "Sweet Sixteen"
and "Like Yu Style".
Since 1998, The Potential Crew has performed on The Taste Talent Contest, Little
Pub, Club 2000, Winters Park, Ms. St. Catherine Festival Queen Finals and Red Dut Showcase in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.
Mark "Singing Crystal" Harvey has a crystal voice which can be described as a special gift from God. He started singing at age 12 and captured three trophies for his talent before recording "Sweet
Sixteen" in 1998 which hit the charts in Japan.
His brother Carl Harvey, a.k.a "Western Ranks", began deejaying on a sound system called "Ghetto Rock". He continued his career by entering J.C.D.C Pop and variety Competition in which he placed second in the St. Catherine grand finals in 1993.
He later entered and reached the semifinals of the 1997 Red Label Wine Superstar
Song Competition.
Frederick Brooks, a.k.a "Lt. Brooksie was inspired by Lt. Stitchie and later Capleton, although he likes to deejay about the girls. A lot of his lyrics carries a strong cultural message.
The Potential Crew is requested for several stage shows for the year 2001 and has
been included in the top 15 young artistes by radio disc jockeys that made an impact this year. So it is not surprising that they are one of the top 10 finalists in this year's J.C.D.C popular song competition. The song is entitled "Say It Out Loud" Their entry in the 2001 Festival Song Finals landed them in the prestigious top ten. The Potential
